WHAT WE BELIEVE IN?
How does Confidence Develop?
Confidence can develop from a willingness to take risks in front of people.
We need to inspire and encourage our athletes to have courage.
They need to have faith and believe in themselves.
Trial & error is necessary to develop a level of excellence under pressure.
It is important to try new things and step out of your comfort zone.
An athlete must believe in their capacity to learn and be resilient.
Keep going until you meet your expectations.
We get to choose how we feel about our performance.
Making mistakes is a part of the process; through this process, you gain useful information and experience.
Learning, practice, and working at your skills will give you competence. Confidence is a muscle you build through exertion. Competence creates confidence.
Choose excitement and challenge yourself to create momentum and motivation towards your future.
Confidence takes Practice!
“Feel the Fear & Do it Anyway!”
When you take action and put yourself out there, you allow yourself the opportunity to conquer your fears.
Think of all the things you are afraid of…
The emotions athletes fear the most are their own feelings of disappointment, shame, and humiliation.
Taking action, when you still feel fear, is a skill you can develop.
You can move past your fears and prove to yourself there is nothing to be afraid of… It just takes practice.
When you learn to embrace this and understand it, you will have the courage to feel the fear and do it anyway!
One of the most important things we can do is to list the things we are afraid of… then go down the list and ask yourself “is this fear holding me back?”
Fear is just a sensation in your body.
It will pass.
Believe in your ability, your training, and yourself.
You’ve got this! Do it anyway!
